I was shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Antonio De la Cruz of House Ear Clinic on July 31st at age 65.

1.6 cm left AN diagnosed Oct. '07
1.9 cm on 2nd MRI, May '08
Retrosigmoid surgery at House Clinic/St. Vincent's on 8/6/08
(no post-op dizziness, nausea, facial or balance issues)

OMG! Just seeing the title of the thread tugged at my heart even though I never met him. Thank you for sharing the news.

Facial nerve hemangioma. Probable dx 7/2008 confirmed 4/2009. Combo middle fossa and translab to remove the blood vessel malformation and snip ruined hearing and balance nerves by Drs. House and Brackmann @ House 6/2009. Doing great!

Thanks for letting us know about this, Nancy.  I did not have the pleasure of meeting him while I was at House, but I have heard and read many good things about him.

Wow is right! What a great loss. We just never know how long we will be here. I did not know him personally but I'm sure he has touched many peoples lives in a positive way.  He will be missed by many. Thanks for letting us know. Ann

I am definitely behind on reading this post.  I am shocked as well.  It is a great loss to HEI.  RIP.
