Insurance coverage for the BAHA
« on: January 29, 2010, 08:11:47 pm »
I got this link (with permission) from the Cochlear Community website where I have recently become a member.

I hope it will be helpful to those of you trying to get your insurance company to cover the BAHA.

Retrosig 5/31/07 Drs. Battista & Kazan (Hinsdale, Illinois)
Left AN 3.0 cm (1.5 cm @ diagnosis 6 wks prior) SSD. BAHA implant 3/4/08 (Dr. Battista) Divino 6/4/08  BP100 4/2010 BAHA 5 8/2015

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

I really think that Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa changed their position on the BAHA system based on an amazing letter sent by my surgeon's office.  The letter was a detailed explanation of the parts of the BAHA system in addition to a full description of why I medically and personally needed this system.

There is always the possibility of Divine intervention.
