Superbowl Sunday
« on: February 06, 2010, 01:43:07 pm »
Okay, time for something totally off-topic  ;D

Colts or Saints?

I say Colts!  Love that Peyton Manning - and I haven't even liked a quarterback since Jim McMahon  ;D

Jim  McMahon!   You've got to be kidding.

I think the sentiment of many fans are the Saints , but the Colts are the better team and will win by at least 10 points.

Yeah, I am gonna have to go with the Colts.  Brees is a great QB but Manning has style! Although, a win for NO would be pretty cool for a team who is making their first appearance in the Super Bowl. I just hope it won't be a big blowout for one team or the other...if it is gonna be like last years (Go Cardinals!) then it'll be a good game regardless!s

I'm still cheering for the Dolphins.   :'(

I'm not really a fan of either team, but I will eat some wings, drink some beer and watch the game anyway.  May the best team win.  May the commercials be funny and may the halftime show be worth watching.

 Hey Jan,

I hear that "Jimmy"  will be in one of the Super Bowl commercials for  Boost Mobile.   Hope your watching.

If your old, then I'm  old.     I remember Da Bears back when.

I already caught Jimmy and Mike Singletary in the Boost commercial - it's been airing here for a few days now.  Hard to believe that they are - and I am - that old  :o

Joe Montana - great quarterback and a wonderful product of the University of Notre Dame; wish I could say the same about Joe Thiesmann (for some reason I never liked him).  Perhaps it was that whole "Thiesmann as in Heismann thing"  ::)

Really looking forward to the commercials - I usually like the ones from Budweiser.   Wonder if the one from the Census Bureau will be humorous.

Hi,

Being from New England and a Patriots Fan, the colts are considered our rivals, so I have to go for the Saints.

Hurray for the Saints!!!!

I grew up in New Orleans and have been a Saints fan through thick and thin over their 44-year run.

My mother's 90th birthday was Saturday (February 6). She (and my father, until his death) were Saints season-ticket holders from the very beginning -- 1967 -- when the Saints played at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, prior to the building of the Superdome. She remained a loyal fan and continuous season-ticket holder -- and attended all the home games -- until the 2005 season. You'll recall that Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans on August 29 of that year and, after the levees breached, 85% of the city was submerged for several weeks. Her house was in one of the lakefront neighborhoods that had 8 feet of water. She evacuated safely and has since re-settled in her hometown of Nashville. The Saints offered a refund to all the 2005 season-ticket holders, and it was a sad day in our family when we wrote to redeem it. She has continued to be a loyal Saints fan (she's still not too keen on the Tennessee Titans) and her birthday wish was that the Saints would finally win the Super Bowl. We are glad her wish came true, and that it was also a really great game.

I'm hoping that Peyton Manning, as a New Orleans native, his dad, Archie, and brother Eli (go, GIANTS!), while disappointed at the Colts' loss, felt a good measure of happiness with the Saints' victory. Believe me, it means so very, very much to New Orleans as they continue to recover from the effects of the hurricane.

I was in New Orleans two weeks ago, when they beat Minnesota.  We were staying in the French Quarter 3 blocks from Bourbon Street.  The street party went on till the wee hours of the morning-- not much sleep to be had.
The Superbowl win should be good for the city of New Orleans.  Keep the Gumbo flowing.  Mardi Gras may start early this year!
Regards,
 Rob

When I saw the interception, I knew it was all over for the Colts  :'(

But I am very happy for the Saints!  ;D

They played a great game and deserved to win.

I didn't think the commercials were that great this year.  Am I alone in this??
