I finally got a diagnosis on what's going on with my back. I have an encapsulation tear in my left sacroiliac joint--something the docs can actually SEE!! The second doc saw it in the dye they use for needle placement during the injection procedure. I can't believe I have been walking around with this for 13 months. He gave me some pain meds that actually work, Ativan to take when I wake up in the middle of the night with level 9 pain, a PT prescription, and an appt to get another couple joint injections, which I may not have. I also got a prescription for the Flector Patch, which I used one night and actually slept through the night for the first time in almost a year. I'm back on Neurontin for this--was going to go back on it for the head anyhow.
The tear is probably from surgical position during my laparoscopic hysterectomy a year ago in May. These things are caused by trauma usually and the pain started right afterwards so putting 2 and 2 together. Maybe they dropped me!
Sounds about like my luck with surgeries!
Anyway, the doc said it would heal but it would be a long time and might bother me the rest of my life. Just like my head apparently. Just call me Heads N Tails!
