Right side AN (6x3x3 cm) removed in 1988 by Drs. Benjamin & Cohen at NYU (16 hrs); nerves involved III - XII.
Regrowth at the brainstem 2.5 cm removed by Dr.Shahinian in 4 hrs at SBI (hopefully, this time forever); nerves involved IV - X with VIII missing. No facial or swallowing issues.

Right 3cm AN diagnosed 1/2007.  Translab resection 2/20/07 by Dr. David Kaylie and Dr. Karl Hampf at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.  R side deafness, facial nerve paralysis.  Tarsorraphy and tear duct cauterization 5/2007.  BAHA implant 11/8/07. 7-12 nerve jump 9/26/08.

I remember being your age (1992).  Bill Clinton was elected to his first term as U.S. president, Silence of the Lambs won the Academy Award for Best Picture, the Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series, the Washington Redskins won the Super Bowl  (# XXIV), Boyz II Men were the hot pop singing group and regular gas was about $1.15 a gallon.  My son was entering adolescence but your twins weren't born, yet.  Feel any younger, now?  :)

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

And just for the record I'm not half a century yet  :o - that's next year  ;D

Appreciate the well wishes and am very disappointed that gas isn't still $1.15 a gallon  :'(

Best news is that I am employed again; start on October 1st.  I accepted an offer last week - and although the salary is a lot less than I was making, it's a place that I think I'll be extremely happy.  My new bosses seem to be great, it's a small and friendly place, the commute isn't outrageous, the hours are good, and the insurance coverage is definitely nothing to sneeze at.
