Yes, I am back to posting from Seton Guest Center!!! I was sprung from St. Vincent's Hospital just before noon today.
This has been the most amazing surgery and recovery ever! I initially had some headaches (F3D, you know), but nothing but extra strength Tylenol once or twice a day since then, which takes care of both the back and the head easily. Balance is back to about what it was before surgery. Of course, I am totally deaf in my left ear now, but you know what, it really does not seem all that much worse than without my hearing aid before. Really looking forward to getting the processor in three months.
More hair shaved this time, I guess because Dr. Friedman just shaved a bigger swath to do the translab and place the abutment for the Ponto Pro at the same time, instead of two swaths.
Went for a lovely walk in the garden outside Seton. The huge, gorgeous roses are in full bloom. Not exactly a 5 star hotel, but we lucked out and got one of the three rooms with a king-sized bed (it's the little things that count, can you tell?). It is very comfortable here and hope to do a bit of sight-seeing with another couple from here sometime this week. Lots of wonderful people, both patients and personnel, etc.
Well, my dear friends ...... thank you ever so much for all of your posts of caring and praying. Couldn't have done it without you!!
