Debbi B. in March edition of 'Notes'
« on: March 02, 2011, 05:28:53 pm »
Hi, all ~

Just a reminder that our own Debbi (Bifulco) has an informative and optimistic letter published in the March edition of the ANA newsletter 'Notes' that describes her successful experience with regaining facial mobility following AN surgery.  It's on page 6.  I urge everyone to read the 'official' ANA publication - available online to ANA members - and enjoy Debbi's letter and all the other informative articles within.  It's worth your time.

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Shucks.  Thank, Jim!  And definitely read Moe's letter which is very inspirational and optimistic.

I was sitting at dinner with the hubs tonight and we were reflecting on how much has changed in the 3 years (almost to the day, actually) since my diagnosis.  I certainly never imagined all that would happen.  Picc lines and facial paralysis aside, a lot of really amazing things have come from this.  Not the least of which is all of the wonderful friends I've made along the way.  I can honestly say that if the price of meting so many great people was a brain tumor...well, it was worth it!

Debbi, feeling pretty darned blessed!

Debbi's piece was great! Mine is on page 5 ;)
We both ended kind of the same in our piece. Great minds think alike, eh?
Mine was about my recent gracilis flap surgery following two unsuccessful tries to get the facial nerve "rebooted."

yea right. Maybe you, you're the writer, :D I'm not. I'm just the nurse!
Actually, my sister, the writer, who is longing to get her first book published, is working on a book which incorporates a character who has an AN and how it affects her dancing career and other good stuff.
So I am vicariously reliving the AN experience as she is writing it......(giving me a headache :o ).

Noticed Debbi's letter, but somehow missed Maureen's.

Will have to go back and look for it.

Enjoyed the article by Larry Laske.  Wondered who his docs were since he's from my neck of the woods.

At the symposium and can't wait to be the first in line to obtain that autograph! :)  Well done, m'dear... and to moe as well! Great to see you all contributing in such a terrific manner, esp. since many that read "Notes" may not be on the forums, thus, sharing what you have beyond the walls of our discussions here.  Well done! :)
