Crunching sound in skull
« on: July 14, 2011, 06:40:00 pm »
Hi All!
Now this WILL sound weird I'm sure!! I'm 7 months post middle fossa for a left sided AN. I still find it painful to sleep on my left side - there is often an intense pressure feeling. The skull there is generally quite sensitive. What I have a query about is when my skull is knocked or strong pressure is placed there I hear an audible crunch or cracking sound!! It happened immediately post op and the surgeon said it was nothing to worry about! 7 months later I thought it'd be more healed! Does anyone else have this?
Oh and before anyone asks - I don't go round whacking my head!!! I do have an eight month old baby who sometimes head butts!! This morning in bed he used my head as a convenient leverage point to help him stand up!! Ouch!

Thanks everyone!
Heather

I'm not an expert on ANs or post surgical side-effects, but I've never heard of this.

If it were me, I'd contact my doctor and get his take on it.

Good luck and keep us posted,
