CapTel Caption Phones...a good alternative for "hearing help"
« on: November 27, 2011, 09:12:12 am »
Hi all,
I wanted to share a contact that came and spoke at the Greater Boston support group.  Moira Hennessey (Moira.Hennessey@hamiltonrealy.com).  Phone 413-464-3392.  She described that every state has a program for hearing disability patients and for some, the capability of getting discounted or free phone equipment. The phones are made by a company called Captel (captioned telephones).  For those who have trouble hearing on the phone, this captures the callers information and you can read vs. struggling!! For those that live in Massachusetts, Moira's the Outreach Coordinator. For those in other states, if you google your state, hearing/Captel, you'll find the state contact.  Good luck...and hope this helps!!

Thank you so much for this.    It's a great find for all of us here.   I'll check into it later this week.        It would be a Christma blessing.
Merry Christmas, Laura.
