Thinking with more clarity
« on: July 03, 2012, 02:38:00 pm »
Dear friends,

I must say that after the AN nightmare I went through (from early February till June 10th) my attitude has changed drastically colors seem brighter, sounds crisper, tastes more flavorful, and touches more intense. I will be enjoying the fireworks tomorrow with a lot more excitement too! I seem to be able to think with more clarity and concentrate for longer periods. It seems that Dead Irv was sucking up more than I knew before he died (June 11th).

I just had somebody comment to me that just before Gamma Knife I seemed to be dragging ,now they said they can see a marked change in my appearance for the better. I am amazed!

Mike ~

I think that your experience demonstrates how big a factor stress plays in our well-being.  You were obviously under much stress over how to address your re-growth and who to trust with the procedure you decided on.  Once the decisions were made and, more so, after you underwent your GK, the pressure was off and you could let go of the stresses that were negatively affecting you.  Now, with a good post-radiation experience, your optimism and enthusiasm is contagious and welcome.  May your recovery continue apace.  :)

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
