  • Forever Thankful for Supportive ANA Friends!
To all my AN friends,

I just recently (about 2 weeks ago) received a request by a mother of someone who just received a diagnosis of NF2 in January and had undergone 2 surgeries already(C1-C2 tumor resection in May and an L2 tumor resection in July) She has also an AN that according to her surgeon she cannot have another surgery yet. The mother and 25 year old daughter (Kristina Reyes) a nurse,  had been told the tumor is almost 3cm already. They were told that radiation was not advisable because it will trigger growth.

What Erlina asked me( because I am Catholic) is that I pray for her daughter that she will receive a miraculous healing. I said to her that I would go one step further! (Do you remember praying for Chloes Mema,  Mike (me), LizAN , my coworker Mary and my friend Phyllis R.?)

I am proposing that we gather together (online) and pray for this worthy cause!

Prayer is very helpful and healing and the response and peace one gets from it can often soothe one's fears!

In June  we thought of grouping together and calling ourselves the Prayer Warriors a name that thankfully, Karen (Chloes Mema) coined.

I am asking that we all  activate ourselves as Prayer Warriors ( by praying individually as a group) once again  for Kristina that she receive miraculous healing or some relief from her torment of this AN. Please pray for her mother (Erlina) as well.

Many of you believe in the power of prayer (especially directed prayer) as do I. I believe God is merciful and will provide an answer!

Thanks in advance.

PS. For those of you who don't pray, send your healing thoughts to Kristina please.

Mike

Dear ANA friends (It is what it is, Brewers7 and Jackie and others who will read this and pray),

Thank you so much for responding to the group prayer call of the Prayer Warriors! I can't begin to express how much it means to Erlina(the mother) and Kristine (her 25 year old daughter, that without ever knowing much about them, and taking it on faith that you would respond to my call to prayer in such a loving way, I really appreciate it as do they.

Hopefully and faithfully we must proceed sometimes, I have faith in God that He will provide answers to them they only have to research and decide on which path to take.

God bless all of you and speed you to health wherever you are with your individual journeys, thank you again!

Mike, She also wrote to me and I hope my writing back can be of some help too.       Having NF2 and being so young would be so hard.          I am lucky to have such an older age onset.             My thoughts are with them and have to hope for the best over time.                      Cheryl R

Thank you, Cheryl,

You have provided some insight to me and some background  about coping with NF2 and an AN. I can imagine the brain being adaptable but I didn't know just what going through multiple operations so close together would do.

I have had 30 years between operations, giving my brain time to learn and adapt to new situations. I know God is merciful and will provide the best possible outcome for them!

Keep praying everyone, thank you!

Dear ANA Prayerful Friends,

An update from Erlina the mother of Kristine Reyes (the NF2 post operation) who has an AN as well. Tomorrow they are going for a consultation at 9:00 am with a Dr. William Slattery of HEI in LA.

I have been asked to pray that "everything that we will hear tomorrow will be good things, that there will be hope that she will not be deaf nor encounter facial paralysis."

I will update you on Wednesday.

She has additional symptoms of pain (burning sensation) around the face, headache and spasming as well as stiffness in her neck area.

We can pray for miracles can't we?

Mike

Thank you for your response Prayer Warriors,

As of yet I haven't had an email from Erlina to tell me anything, but please be assured that I may know something either tonight or tomorrow as to the interview. I will inform you as soon as I know anything. As for now, let us keep praying for positive outcomes!

Thanks!

Adding my prayers.  I am so grateful for all the prayers that were offered during my surgery and recovery - it's the least I can do.

I firmly believe in a God of miracles. Each of us needs an answer to prayer and I am trusting God that whatever we go through and whatever our outcome, God is our strength. "I will never leave you nor forsake you" Hebrews 13:5, Deut. 31:6

Dear ANA Prayer Warriors,

Erlina has asked me to thank all of you that have been praying and sending your thoughts of healing to Kristine and her. She reports to me that the Dr. Slattery interview went well and that yes he does work with Dr. Friedman and six other specialists at HEI. I wanted to add my personal thanks as well for what the group did when they responded to my request that we "activate" ourselves. You see what a little payer does, it unites us!

Kristine now feels comfortable and so does her mother!   :)  I would like to thank Jim and Cheryl R as well you two have provided me with your friendship and knowledge base as well as we made this "leap" of faith together.

Perhaps, they will seek treatment at HEI but at least I know that prayer petitions work and the requests have worked well in the past to ease the pain of this waiting period. Praise God!

Say a prayer of thanksgiving as  I will, for each of our shared journeys, but for uniting us across this great distance and welcoming another into our fold!

Thanks again ANA for being a vehicle to allow us to open our hearts in this way!
