Stereotactic Radiosurgery But NOT Gamma Knife!
« on: August 20, 2006, 10:41:55 am »
Being based in the UK I have today accessed the British Acoustic Neuroma Assoc.( BANA) website at http://www.bana-uk.com/ and have read about an alternative stereotactic radiosurgery treatment which within the UK is only available at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth using a 'BrainLAB m3' machine whereby the actual radiation input of the treatment session is concluded within 10 minutes!.

I have not personally heard of the 'BrainLAB m3' treatment and wondered if anyone has any info relevant to its origin; treatment success rate and just how it diifers and compares to the established worldwide GK method?

Regards

Derek

Residing UK. In 'watch & wait' since diagnosis in March 2002 with right side AN. Initially sized at 2.5cm and now self reduced to 1.3cm.
All symptoms have abated except impaired hearing on affected side which is not a problem for me.
