Pre-Op Tomorrow

I'm not that nervous with the pre-op. It's more the realization that surgery is approaching more quickly than I'd prefer. Tomorrow I meet the other neurosurgeon (even tho I've already googled him) Reid Thompson--and he seems terrific; do the pre-op stuff--whatever that is; and get educated on what to expect. Vandy all day but afterward Cheesecake Factory!! accentuate the positive right?

Yes focus on the positive......cheesecake.
Pre-op is mostly educational but as you say going for that makes things seem more "real", deep breaths, you are going to be fine.

Very surprised to learn that pain isn't much of a factor, but rather the fatigue that gets to you.

How is you are having this tumor "dealt with"? I wonder because you say that pain is not much of a factor.

I'm having it removed sugically. Like I said "surprised" to hear that at my pre-op. "They" say fatigue is the issue not pain when patients get home. Guess I'll see how this works out very soon.

This was true of my post op experience.  No pain - other than my neck from being in an awkward position for 7 1/2 hours - but my fatigue was incredible and it lasted for months.

I do hope  you have the experience such as Jan mentions, for me it was not the case. I can't say the incisision was that painful but my head as well as most of my upper body.
