Post Gamma Knife Symptoms
« on: December 06, 2012, 09:53:37 am »
I had GKS on 8-2-2012 for a left side 2.3cm AN. I Am about about 4 months post GK and experiencing increased numbness on my left face side and now including my teeth. I still have balance issues and maybe some more increased tinnitus.

I would love to get some feed back from only other GK patients on wether they are having the same problems. One doctor told me my symptoms should start to abate after 6 months or so. Please pass on any info.
Thank so much, Jane

I had single session Cyberknife which is very similar to GK.
I had increased dizzyness and general increase of symptoms at 4.5 months.
However at 5 1/2 months I was feeling better than pre treatment.
Many people report an increase in symptoms around 4-6 months.

10x5x5mm AN
Sudden Partial hearing loss 5/28/10
Diagnosed 7/4/10
CK 7/27/10
2/21/11 Swelling 13x6x7mm
10/16/11 Hearing returned, balance improved. Feel totally back to normal most days
3/1/12 Sudden Hearing loss, steroids, hearing back.
9/16/13 Life is just like before my AN. ALL Good!

My GK was done last March.  I was fine until about a month ago.  I am now experiencing left sided facial weakness, left ear tinnitus and was having bad posterior headaches.  I am on steroids right now and they have alleviated the headache but, not the facial weakness.  However, I can live with that.   I hope that when I am done with the course of steroids, that the headache won't return.

Keep me posted.

Thanks to you all, I guess I am on the same track everyone else is. I get incredibly tired around 3-4 PM. I seem to lack focussing and get distracted on things I should be doing in general. Jane
I do appreciate your responses.
