taking prednisone on vacation just in case

hi,

I've been a watch and wait person for about 3 years. My initial vertigo ended about one week after starting on prednisone. I've had several short and minor episodes of vertigo since then. My last visit at Hopkins was almost 2 years ago and I was told to return in 2 years. I will be going to Costa Rica for 10 days over the Christmas holiday, am a little nervous about having vertigo while I'm there.  I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take some prednisone along just in case of vertigo. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. Also, any contra-indications to taking prednisone?
