Suggestions for tinnitus/pressure changes with air travel?
« on: April 07, 2013, 01:43:21 pm »
Even though my ears have "cleared", It seems I always get increased tinnitus & ear pressure for several days after air travel-I've tried decongestants & antihistamines & can't really say that anything really helped. Now that I know I have this AN , I'm really nervous about my upcoming flight...any  suggestions from anyone who has a working strategy? Thanks

AMTRAK.

Just kidding.

My only ear issue with flying has always been some ear pressure on landing but it goes away pretty quick.

My AN was DX April 2012 and I flew round trip from Phoenix to Seattle in June and then from Phoenix to NY in July. No change in the ear pressure thing.

It's possible that your reaction won't be any worse due to the AN.

Think positive.

3/23/15 12mm x 5.5mm x 4mm
3/13/14 12mm x 6mm x 4mm
8/1/13 14mm x 5mm x 4mm (Expected)
1/22/13 12mm x 3mm (Gamma Knife)
10/10/12 11mm x 4mm x 5mm
4/4/12 9mm x 4mm x 3mm (Diagnosis)

Drinking a lot of water is what really helps me during air travel—it keeps me hydrated, reduces fatigue, and makes the whole experience a bit more bearable. But honestly, another great option is to completely avoid flying altogether whenever possible. Air travel can be exhausting, stressful, and sometimes just not worth the hassle. Instead, I’ve been looking into alternative ways to get around, like taking ferries or trains for shorter trips. For example, I recently checked out bc ferries reservations to see what routes they offer, and it actually seems like a great alternative for certain destinations. It’s a much more relaxed way to travel, plus you get to enjoy the scenery instead of dealing with airport chaos
