Hey Joe,

Great news!  What are you doing to make it move?  Smiling?  I can get my upper lip to move a little, very little bit if I wrinkle my nose.

Joe:

Glad to learn you're finally having some facial movement.  I pray it continues for you - and I trust that it will.   :)

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Thanks all!

Headcase .... nope , just going to work .. and living life as normal

krbonner .. good luck on you upcoming surgery! I hope we can see you at the upcoming next lunch!

Jeanlea, ... yep ... when tring to smile, the right corner moves just a little bit... and if I hold the good side, I can see it ever more ...
but I can only do it a few times in a row... it seems to get tired .. but thats ok! ... I just happy it moves at all  ;D ;D ;D

they said the facial nerve was intact after surgery, but was beginning to wonder.. at least its progress!!

HI Joe,

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!  Can't imagine how happy you must be!!!!!!!!!

If that happened to me, I don't quite know what I would do!!

I think you need to get in that little boat of yours and celebrate.  We have not met, but I am so happy for you. You have made my day. How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great news! I also  can feel things wanting to lift, but still weak. When I try to smile BIG I can see 2/3's of my teeth. I can sqint, squeeze, almost whistle, use very little eye drops now, but no lift above my eyebrows. I try to excerise my AN side everday. IMO the more you try to work the muscles the stronger the 7th nerve will get if it's not damaged. I see it this way my little " timmy the tumor " has been pushing and stretching the nerves for 10 to 15 years, so I will give it atleast 10 before I give up.

I can feel it ! .. and I have for months .. but its a numbness feeling ... I feel the presure of the check being touched .. its gotten be more of a swollen feeling lately .. which I assume is improvement ..  I remember years ago as a kid a yellow jacket bit me on the lip ..(I assume because I was throwing rocks at the nest  ::) ) it kinda feels like that (not the pain, but swollen feeling)
