Return to work ?
« on: September 05, 2006, 12:09:08 pm »
Tomorrow should be an interesting day – first interview for five years
-and first interview post operation.
It is a full day interview with exercises and presentations
Ã¢â‚¬â€œto some degree I am going, just to see how I make out.
I am quite looking forward to the question
Why did you leave the last job?
I am not totally sure they are prepared for an answer that includes
7 surgeries, 1 radio therapy treatment, a face rebuild,
 and a month’s stay in a wheelchair…
we shall see … I am quite excited really !
Best Regards
Tony

Tony,

Go for it!  You will be just fine.  If you can endure AN, 7 surgeries, face rebuild, etc., you can handle anything else!!!

Thanks everyone - it didnt go too bad
It was a full day of exercises, presentations, psycometric tests etc etc
Funny, it wasnt till I met the shrink and explained about the last 18mths
that they had any inclination that I was Post-Op at all
Some of non-ops were complaining about interview fatigue ??!!!!??
I was thinking - well I can go another 2 or 3 rounds yet...
One thing I am clear on - I definately can do a 10 hr day
The shrink was most impressed - job or not she said
you have definately proved something today
best regards
tony

Tony,
Excellent news.  Glad to hear you did so well.  Can I ask what type of position you're applying for?  Exercises, presenations, psychometric testing, a shrink...  doesn't sound like the normal interview process in the US.

addendum...
We now are invited to a second interview - Hooray !
- after an 8hr presidential campaign - they want another ballot ????
So, its for an Export advisor position - assisting companies that
wish to export to Europe.
I have experiance of opening retail and business markets in France/Belguim/Holland/Denmark etc.
I suspect they are a bit (too) process driven for me
(my management profile sits marginally to the right of Gen Patton)
We shall see...
Best Regards
Tony

YAY TONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the States, not usual to have (sometimes) 2nd and 3rd interviews. Some companies here are even doing backround (criminal) checks as well. Been trying to also share this with Cheeky Bloke for when he moves here (from SE London).

Now, as a "Logistical Liasion" with my Japan manufacturing plant, that does dropship from Japan to all around Europe (ie: France, Romania, Slovakia, etc), if you get this job, you'd be able to help me?

Keeping all appendages crossed you get the job.  Hang in there! :)

Well then, to quote General Patton, "Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory".  Best of luck on the second round.
