You only have a few days left to wait!!  We'll all be sending good thoughts and prayers your way on the 20th.  Thank you so much for taking the time to share information with me through our PMs.  I still haven't been able to take the step of making the appointment but I'm working on it!!

Very good outcome.  Mild smile issue they say will go away.  99.5% tumor removal.  Biggest issue is balance, but today was a big improvement.  Schwartz called it a slam dunk.  Thank God and all from this site that I am now on the other side.
Dx 2.6 cm Nov 2012, 35% hearing loss.  Grew to 3.5 cm Oct 2013.  Pre-op total hearing loss, left side tongue numb.  Translab Nov 2013 House Clinic.  Post-op no permanent facial or other issues.  Tongue much improved.  Great result!!

You said "Balance is issue"- can you please elaborate ....(whenever safe to do)
Your response in 3-4 days is very encouraging and appreciated.
Diagnosed AN in 2008,  3.2 cm CPA round, retrosigmoid surgery performed by Dr. M. Sisti, Columbia Pres.Hospital  NY, in Jan 2013, After surgery no major issues, Hearing retained (>50% ). However, 2 YRs post surgery MRI shows a further decrease in the size of residual AN! No GK or any therapy needed.

Hey, Rich!  So glad to hear from you and that all is ok!  If they say your smile will be fine, trust them on that...it will!  The balance/wonkyhead may take a some time, but it does get better.  Walk as much as you can - followed by a nice nap each time :D

Enjoy the rest of your stay out there :)

They cut balance nerve so the other side takes time to compensate.  First few days post op I was dizzy.  Then day 3 or 4 I could walk a little, but not much.  Now 10 days out I am walking very well.  Each person is a little different.
Dx 2.6 cm Nov 2012, 35% hearing loss.  Grew to 3.5 cm Oct 2013.  Pre-op total hearing loss, left side tongue numb.  Translab Nov 2013 House Clinic.  Post-op no permanent facial or other issues.  Tongue much improved.  Great result!!

Great choice Clere.  From my perspective, and also people I met at Seton - hard to go wrong coming out here.
