TENS Unit on face?

Has anyone ever used a TENS Unit on their face? My speech therapist used one on me and then I lost my insurance so I was doing stuff at home. I got a TENS Unit, but their website says not to put it on your face. Another website says only if your therapist says it ok. So I'm wondering why
 the TENS people say not to put it on your face and if anyone has had success with it.

That's easy to answer.

If the company warns you not to do it, it's absolved of liability if you do it and you injure yourself.
