Hi ~

I'm sorry to learn of your AN diagnosis but you have options. The House Ear Institute in Los Angeles is one of them.  Here is a link to their website: http://www.houseearclinic.com/about/locations

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Yes House is in Los Angeles.  I flew from NY to have my 3.5cm removed and had a great result.  They are highly experienced in AN surgery.  I had Slattery and Schwartz.  At your size I would also check with Dr Chang at Stanford, who does alot of radiation.  I think you can mail him your MRI and start by phone.  Then you'll have a range of options.  BEst of luck and keep us posted.
Dx 2.6 cm Nov 2012, 35% hearing loss.  Grew to 3.5 cm Oct 2013.  Pre-op total hearing loss, left side tongue numb.  Translab Nov 2013 House Clinic.  Post-op no permanent facial or other issues.  Tongue much improved.  Great result!!

Dr. Chang, Stanford.
Retrosig 5/31/07 Drs. Battista & Kazan (Hinsdale, Illinois)
Left AN 3.0 cm (1.5 cm @ diagnosis 6 wks prior) SSD. BAHA implant 3/4/08 (Dr. Battista) Divino 6/4/08  BP100 4/2010 BAHA 5 8/2015

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

I had Brackmann and Schwartz at House, they were great. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the House Clinic doctors!

I can personally vouch for the work of Brackmann and Schwartz at House, but I would encourage you to get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion.  I personally met with specialists at 3 different hospitals before making my decision!
AN right side 12mm x 9mm x 9mm
Middle fossa surgery 11/4/09 at House (Dr. Brackmann/Dr. Schwartz)
Tumor removed, no facial issues, hearing intact!
