Hypnosis for tinnitus?

Has anyone tried hypnosis for tinnitus? I see some self-hypnosis downloads to buy online - should I bother? Or has anyone tried going to a professional who specializes in tinnitus?

I tried hypnosis to reduce anxiety around just having an AN.  I learned some relaxation techniques which might modulate the noise while you are doing the relaxing but definitely does not make the tinnitus go away. I wish there was something that would because this is REALLY annoying ALL the time.  You happened to catch me at a time when the noise is louder. It used to be that I would not hear it if I was concentrating on something-now no matter what I am doing I "hear" it. I am thinking of moving on to counseling although it is hard to see how that will help. Let me know if you find something that works.
