Radiation or Surgery ?
« on: October 13, 2014, 06:29:43 pm »
Hello ,

My husband has been recently diagnosed with Menengioma (with differential diagnosis) of Acoustic Neuroma of the IAC. He is 35 years old and his tumor size is 2.2cmx2.4cmx2.1cm . Wondering if there are any people in the forum who underwent radiation treatment for tumors ~2.5cm. How was the progress post radiation treatment ?

We met one ENT so far @Yale. He suggested surgery keeping in mind the age of the patient. I emailed Dr. Chang from Stanford and based on the size , he said my husband can be a candidate for radiation. Also, can anyone suggest how they got the consult from Dr. Chang ? do you have to meet him personally ? Would he be willing to do the initial consultation through phone ? Any experiences there ?

We will be meeting Dr. Golfinos from NYU soon. Have sent the records to House Clinic and USC. Will have to hear from them yet.

All Dr Chang needs is a copy of your latest MRI and if you have a copy of the MRI report, send that too. Mail it to him and ask him to call you.
Diagnosed with 19x16x19mm cystic AN right side on 7/2013
MRI on 3/2014 showed AN increased to 21x20mm
right side 70% hearing loss, tinnitus, balance issues
CK at Stanford completed 3/21/2014 (3 sessions)
Dr Steven Chang and Dr Iris Gibbs
