How did you get your results NHS
« on: February 02, 2016, 04:52:58 pm »
Hi again

Had MRI done two weeks ago and rang today to get results, but was told a letter had gone out and an appointment made for end feb.

I was not expecting to see my consultant again so am now a tiny bit worried it might be bad news as I had assumed if  MRI was clear I would just have had a letter to that effect and not an appointment.

How were you told?

Thanks

After my first MRI I initially saw one of 'my' specialist's team in Mansfield for the diagnosis.  At a follow-on assessment/consultation in QMC, Nottingham a couple of months later I met the head honcho.  As it's such a pain to travel there I asked if I could get subsequent MRI results at King's Mill, Mansfield unless Professor Birchall wanted to see me himself in QMC.

Since then MRI results have been communicated by one of his team at King's Mill.  I have no idea if that's a general procedure in other NHS hospitals.

By the way, have you thought of joining BANA too?
