Hi all,
This is my first post on the forum. Last week I was diagnosed with a 4 mm acoustic neuroma tumor, via MRI, after audiology tests showed asymmetrical hearing loss. I'm a musician and acoustical consultant, so I am attuned to hearing and noticed the high frequency loss at least 8 months ago, but just thought it was noise exposure taking it's toll (even though I wear musician earplugs religiously).
Anyway, I found an app that for me gives results very close to the professional audiological exams I've had, called Mimi Hearing Test. If you do the detailed exam, I think it's pretty accurate and comprehensive. (Link below.)
Has anyone used this or something similar to test their hearing on their own, in between professional exams?
I'm in the process of scheduling appointments in New York City to try to find out about my treatment options, and which approach will have the best chance of preventing further degradation of my left side hearing. I know I'll be posting her more.
