I got a question:

Could meningiomas in CPA be treated by ENT doctors and neurosurgeons through microsurgery?  Sharing some links or experience would be very helpful.

Thanks

-Tony
08/2010, first vertigo episode and tinnitus, 9mm AN found in left ear. Wait and Watch.
01/2016,  AN increased to 13mm.
03/2016, Middle Fossa at House with Drs. Brackmann/Schwartz/Stefan. Entire tumor removed, no facial issues, hearing preserved.
09/2021, MRI showed no regrowth.

Yes I believe they can.
You may want to investigate radiation as well
10x5x5mm AN
Sudden Partial hearing loss 5/28/10
Diagnosed 7/4/10
CK 7/27/10
2/21/11 Swelling 13x6x7mm
10/16/11 Hearing returned, balance improved. Feel totally back to normal most days
3/1/12 Sudden Hearing loss, steroids, hearing back.
9/16/13 Life is just like before my AN. ALL Good!

I have a meningioma that grew into my CPA. The portion in the skull was removed via retrosigmoid surgery by a neurosurgeon, but he also has vast experience with acoustic neuromas as well. From what I can tell, the difference is that an AN is adhered to - and removed from - the acoustic nerve; whereas my meningioma is more like Playdoh that was squeezed into my inner ear and encases my acoustic and facial nerves. The remaining portion in my ear canal is being monitored by annual MRIs at this point. (3 years so far with no new growth)
2.7 cm meningioma in CPA and IAC
Retrosig June 2013 resulted in Facial paralysis and SSD
6-mo post-op MRI showed 1.0 cm remains in IAC
3-yr MRI still shows no new growth!
6/2014 Baha magnet implanted; 8/2014 magnet removed due to poor healing; 9/2014 abutment installed. Hearing fine!

Thank PaulW and Kristena for the important information. It's for a friend. My AN had a small portion in CPA. It was completely removed by doctors in House Ear Clinic. I'm not sure if meningioma can be treated in the same way. Now it's very clear.
