Newly diagnose with AN
« on: May 27, 2018, 12:55:06 am »
I had been suffering with hearing loss for two years. In April I was finally referred to a hearing specialist, who thought it would be a good idea to get an MRI just to bee in the safe side. He gave me a call about 2 weeks ago with the news that  I have a small tumer.
I decided to get surgery, with that said I am glad I found this community. I do feel more at is knowing i am not the only person going through this.
13mm AN...

Hi Dluna,
Welcome to our community. All of us here are in the same boat and benefit from each other’s experiences. If you’re young, surgery may be a good option for you. Make sure you go to a place that has extensive experience in surgical treatment of ANs. Can you still hear in your AN ear? Do you mind sharing where you live and where you will be having your surgery?

I have lost all of my hearing from my left  ear and yes becouse I am young surgery was the best option. I am from Los Angeles and will be driving to San Diego to get surgery. As of now I really dont know what impact the surgery will have with work, family and my social life in general. I have read some post and everyone has different experience and recovery time. I am trying to stay positive and hope for the best outcome.

Hi Dluna,

I'm a newly diagnose (23mm) and from LA too, do you mind sharing which doctor you decided to go with?
