Conflicting news
« on: November 20, 2006, 08:47:18 pm »
I just went to my first neurosurgeon visit.  He told me something different than the first one.  Just the opposite to be exact.  He said that my AN was probably NOT an AN but another meningioma that is 13 mm x 8.6 mm and that isnt a concern.  its the one thats on top of my head thats 2.8 cm x 3.2 that he is concerned about and should be removed surgically.   :'(  He said the small one can be radiated but not the larger one.   :'(   ???

I dont know what to do or how to deal with this news.

Help.. please..
Cindy :'(

I hate when that happens!  First off what was your comfort level with your opinion?  Second do you have copies of your mri?  If so you might want to consider sending them to house or elsewhere for a second opinion and see what they tell you.  Not sure about meningomas but would think that radiating at the top of the brain could be risky.  Hmmm..wish i had the knowledge to help you!  Sending hugs your way!
