(I am so not a doctor)

I shampooed my hair about 3 days after, but i didnt scrub the area of surgery, just let the warm water rinse it. I did that for a while until i forgot and treated it normally.

For Hair Color (i did not ask permission, so many caveats on this...) I had the color done 8 weeks later. The new hair was still short and the color was not done on that section. I also had an undercut, cutting the rest of my hair shorter under the long hair so that it was not short on just one side.

Finally, I get a lot of shampoo/blow drys (long hair) and I warn them because it was pretty lumpy for a while.

Thanks so much for this info. I’m about 8 weeks away from my translab surgery and want to be as prepared as I can be

I searched and searched for advice on the hair in advance, and couldn't find anything! (just dont google "haircut brain surgery, not good). SO very glad to help.

And many thoughts of goodness for you!

Thanks for your good wishes. As I get closer and closer to June 20 I am becoming more and more anxious. No, I don’t think I’ll look up AN surgery haircuts, although I did watch a podcast of the actual surgery!  Fascinating!

How did it go? How was the recovery process for you after surgery? I know that post-surgery healing can be challenging, and everyone’s experience is different. Hopefully, you’re feeling much better now and things are getting back to normal. One thing that really bothered me during my recovery was crepey skin—it became more noticeable, and I wasn’t sure what to do about it. But thankfully, I found the crepe erase customer service number and reached out to them. They were super helpful in explaining their products and guiding me toward the best options for my skin
