Is Gamma Knife the same as Cyber Knife? My doc says it is time to move on my AN.

I've been reading all the info and watching YouTube all I can on CK and gamma ray procedures? Same thing? My doc says it is time to move on my 1.2x1.4x1.6 AN, only grew a tiny bit from last year but I'm tired of arguing with brain surgeons. He says if I choose the middle fossa surgery I can lose hearing permanently and if it gets much bigger that is what he will have to do. So I am going to move on the CK I guess after the 2nd opinion from another Kaiser doctor. I can only find a few people who report negative side effects of this procedure. Tinnitus can actually worsen from CK? Hearing loss could happen?

Yes — CyberKnife (CK) and Gamma Knife (GK) are different machines, but they are both forms of stereotactic radiosurgery/radiotherapy (SRS/FSRT) used to treat vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma). So when you're reading about Gamma Knife, a lot of the general principles apply to CyberKnife, but the exact hearing and tinnitus risks aren't necessarily identical.
