New MRI results! Good News!
« on: December 13, 2022, 03:19:49 pm »
Hi Everyone!
CA Marti here again. I wanted to share my recent MRI results that just came in. My last MRI was one year ago. My new measurements are: 5mmX6mmX7mm on Dec 9, 2022. The reports say “unchanged” and “similar in size” to previous MRI. My MRI from 1 year ago was: 10mmX6mmX8mm on Nov 22 2021. This looks to me like it’s actually 5 mm smaller on the 1st measurement.
For your reference I have been taking 1 baby aspirin daily (81 mg), every once in a blue moon take 1000mg turmeric. Drink lots of water, broccoli or Brussels sprouts every evening at dinner, occasional glass red wine. Try to reduce my stress. Lots of sleep, and yoga almost everyday. Smoothie with lots of pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, and banana a few times a week. I also haven’t gotten any dental X-rays and don’t use cellphone near my ear, I use speaker function instead(I noticed another Ana member did this so I followed suit). Who knows if any of this helped but it apparently didn’t hurt. Keeping my fingers crossed for continued watch and wait.
Wishing everyone good news and success at their followups.
Best wishes,
CA Marti

Thank you for that wonderful update, Marti!

I hope and pray that your AN continues to shrink.  It's exciting to hear that!

Don
Burning Tongue, Loss of Hearing & Balance, and Tinnitus led to MRI. Very small AN found on 11/23/2021
While watching and waiting, lost significant hearing. WRS now at 12% (down from 100%). Was fitted with CROS system on 3/7/22.  Stable MRI on 7/29/22
No treatment yet.

One year follow up MRI showed no tumor.
Five year follow up showed no tumor, so I'm in the clear.

Great news CA Marti!!!  I employ a good number of your same habits.  I'm a believer in the natural ways (high quality food) turmeric, etc and hope I receive similar news on my next MRI.  Hope it continues to shrink!!!!!  Take Care, d

Thanks drumfest! I’m also a professional musician, by the way, so I commiserate with the hearing problems. Wishing you the best on your future MRI’s.
Best Wishes,

I also wanted to add that I think the 1st measurements taken by the radiologist at the 1st MRI were a little off, as they got 10.5 X 8.5  whereas the  neurosurgeon measured my 1st MRI at 9mm X 6mm. Also, my most recent MRI was done at a different facility and with a different radiologist than the 1st two because I switched insurance plans. A difference in 5 mm is likely more like 3 or 4 so I’m waiting to go over the results with the neurosurgeon next week to confirm they are correct. On measuring it myself though it does seem to be smaller in size in my estimation. Hopefully the measurements weren’t a typo!
Best wishes!

Congratulation Marti what a great news

Are you participating with any hospital for the aspirin trial ?

And have you you stopped eating/drinking anything in particular ( Sugar, milk, bread ...etc ) ?

Thanks Moselle and Abdullah85!
I’m not participating in any trial I just thought it couldn’t hurt to take the small dose of aspirin in case it helps something. I did reduce my sugar intake a little and just try to be healthy in general by eating lots of fruits and vegetables, lots of water,  lots of sleep, and reducing stress. Who knows if it was already on a trajectory or if I did something to help it. I also tried to not think about it and stay positive. Of course I was freaking out a bit while waiting for MRI results. I’m hoping to keep this shrinking trend or at least keep it stable.
Best of luck to you.
CA Marti

I just wanted to update this post to reflect that my AN is stable and may not have shrunk. My neurosurgeon recently measured the last MRI at 9 X 6.
Best Wishes!
