Cochlear Implants for AN pts.

Hi;

   Are they as good as Cochlear Corporation would have us believe? Or, are they that good for other causes of hearing loss?
   What if... Hearing is worse after the CI is implanted in a one sided hearing person? There's no going back. Natural remnant of hearing has been totally destroyed.
   Dr tells me they've discovered a way to MRI w/o removing the magnet.
