completely OT: first days of school
« on: September 06, 2007, 11:42:14 am »
My kids each started school this week, and I want to to do the proud momma thing for a minute.  Sure was bittersweet watching my 5 year old climb onto a school bus for the first time...

Katie

P.S.  The little one (the one in red) was only 3 months old when my AN was diagnosed.  Time sure flies sometimes...

Thanks!!   ;D

Yes, the older one is a 40-year-old man trapped in a 5 year old's body!  But he also has very pale, sensitive eyes and never goes outside without his sunglasses.  And the younger one is a very sunny, bubbly, outgoing little guy who gets into everything but has such an infectious giggle that it's hard to be upset with him!

Boy, those kids are cute! My oldest just started 12th grade. I now have pics of the first day of kindergarten and the first day of 12th grade. It went by much too quickly. Enjoy-you are one lucky mom!.

Wow, does that bring back memories for me and my child.  So sweet. Cute kids.  I'm not sure what happened to those years...it sounds so trite..but it does go by fast.

They are so cute!  What a treat to see two cute, healthy kids on this site.  Thanks for the smile.

great pictures Katie!  I have two boys as well,  mine are 24 and 21 and they grew up way to quickly  :(

I bet it was hard for you that first day coming home to an empty and quiet house.

They are the cutest!  That little one definitely looks like he's going to be the heart breaker.  I want to reach through the screen and give him a big hug.  His big brother is going to be the brains and watch over him.  My youngest started high school this year.  If it gets too quiet around the house, you can always get a dog! LOL  Enjoy them while they are young and don't talk back as much yet.  They grow up way too fast.

Your sons are adorable!!!  I'll bet there is never a dull moment around your house.  My children are 15 (10th grade) and 21 (college senior).  My how time flies.  Every year they had to endure having pics made the first day of school.  Maybe one of these days, I'll make a photo album of these pics for them.  Looking back so far, the toughest times for me were elementary graduation (still find it hard to believe they actually do that), 8th grade graduation, and around the time my oldest was a high school junior.  At that point I realized what I had done right, could have done better and flat out messed up with in the child rearing department.  But despite me, they have turned out to be two wonderful daughters.
Enjoy each and every moment!

Katie, the boys are real cuties.  Sorry you and I haven't been able to meet yet.  Hopefully in Nov at the Brunch.  These are precious moments for you and they do go by fast.  My grandchildren, 10, (3) 12,and (1) 14 all started today also.  First thing I'll know, they will all be in high school and thinking of moving on.  So, hang on to there.

Katie -

your sons are SO adorable!  Thanks for sharing the cute pictures with us.

It seems like just yesterday my children (boy/girl twins) were starting kindergarten and I was so depressed that they were growing up so fast.

This year they started 6th grade, and today we had our first consultation with an orthodontist.  Boy, time sure does fly  ;D

Thank you everyone for the kind comments.  I do try to remember how fleeting time is, though sometimes it's hard in the middle of a tantrum!   ;)

My boys are my joy.  I credit them with helping me recover so quickly after my surgery last fall, and they are constant reminders of what is truly important about life.

Katie,

Your doing such a fine job.  They are so cute. I'd love to meet them some day.  It seems like yesterday, I was dropping my daughter off, actually I followed the bus to her first day of kindergarten, to take her picture as she went inside.  Natalie will be 26 in November.  Enjoy each day as they do fly by.  See you in November at the brunch.  Bring pictures. I love their hair colors!! So sweet.

Sincerely,
Sue
