Two Years Post Op Today
« on: September 06, 2007, 08:32:10 pm »
I can't believe it's already been two years since my surgery.  At one year I couldn't smile.  Now I can make a decent smile.  It's not back to normal, but I can make it look fairly good.  I'm thankful that my balance is doing well.  My energy level is good.  I'm back to doing everything I did before surgery.  I'm still amazed when I think back to how I was before surgery.  I only had a slight hearing problems.  Wow, did that change after surgery.  One day I felt perfectly healthy, the next day I was totally wiped out and had facial paralysis and numbness.  I've adjusted to the numbness and the paralysis has made tremendous progress.  I'm grateful that I'm back working and have been since 8 weeks after surgery.  I'm grateful for all of the people that have helped me along this path.  Especially the people on this board.  I've learned so much here, and have gotten so much support.  Thanks to all.

HI

Just wanted to say congratulations!!! Two years is a long time!!  It is great to read about all your progress.  I does take some of us that long to feel really good.

I have watched your progress along the way and have admired your strong attitude.  As a teacher you have so much interacting with others every day.  I am happy to hear that life is easier for you now. And I am sure that people just starting this journey are happy to read about how well you are doing!!

Jean:

Congratulations on your two-year 'anniversary' and the improvements you've seen.

I've posted this sentiment before and I'm pleased to do so again:  You are a special lady and an inspiration to all.

Jim

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
