Here is an update on my Drs appt today I saw the infectious disease Dr and he agrees that there is quite an infection going on and I need to see at least one surgeon and get there opinion and he will work with them to clear it up.  So I see the surgeon on Monday morning in the mean time he has taken me off of all antibiotic, tylenol and advil.  He says that they want to get a true culture this time so the antibiotic will mask that.  He also wants me taking my temp 4 times a day to see exactly where it is with no tylenol or advil.  He also said that I looked sick and that it looked like I did not have good control of the pain.  I explained to him that I still need to work and can not drive if I take the pain medication and it makes me very sick and I sometimes vomit.  So he said to take the pain medication 2 every 4 hours around the clock and to take an antinausea med along with it through the weekend and see if I can not get the pain under control.  I did not know that your heart rate, BP and the color of your face actually shows when your pain is not under control.  I learned something today and I thought I already knew everything (lol).  Oh and if my temp goes up over 101.5 then I am supposed to call and I believe they will put me in the hospital.  That is the last thing I want as bad things happen in the hospital in my experience and that is no place for a sick person (lol).  Boy I sure am amusing myself tonight.

If everyone can keep up the prayers I would greatly appreciate it.  Pray that they can do a culture and get good results this time and remove the right area of the bone that is bad.  I guess they removed the wrong bone!  How frustrating, but I am not angry anymore and I know that everyone has done the best to their ability.

Thank you everyone for your unconditional support you have showed me and my Family.  I have a very special place in my heart for each and every one of you.  I just love you guys.  :-* 16

"If everyone can keep up the prayers I would greatly appreciate it."   Done. Goes without saying.

I'm glad to hear that the specialist is taking the situation seriously.  It makes sense that he would want no antibiotics and no tylenol, so he can get a true reading on what is going on. In sincerely hope you can hold on through the weekend and get the pain under control; if the doctor could see in in your face, it must be pretty bad. Drink lots of water, I hope your temperature stays below 101.5.

They are bound to get this thing sorted out one of these days, and you have gone through so much now, you have to see it through. It must be so frustrating for you, I really can't imagine how you do it. Just think how strong a person you will be when it is finally over. And think about your son, he will inspire you to persevere.

Always all the best, 16.

Well OMG, they'll finally get to the bottom of this.
I hope the pain med with zantac or whatever stomach protector you're on will prevent the nausea/vomiting.

I'm so sorry you're going thru this.    Did the doc say how long you have to wait before they can do the culture/sensitivity ?

Ditto Steve, it's a given - you're in my thoughts & prayers.

Praying for continued safe care & healing...      Nancy

Steve you are right I have been through allot the last 3 years and I am insisting on building more character everyday.  Actually I think I have built enough character to last the rest of my life.  You know I just noticed writing this that none of us remember the 3 year anniversary of my son stroke this year.  It is usually a very emotional week or so and can you believe all of us forgot!  I think our healing is almost complete at least our emotional healing.  When I'm feeling sorry for myself I just get online here and read posts from all of my friends and I feel better and can continue the fight.  Of course I always look at the get well card you made me which I must say touched my heart more than you could ever know.  Thank you just doesn't seem to be enough but that is all I have to offer.   :-* 16

Nancy the medications are helping thank goodness.  Being off of the antibiotic for about 1 week should be enough they believe anyways.  So I can make it another 6 days, I've made it this far so that should be a piece of cake.  Speaking of cake when this is all behind me we will have to have a cyber party with a big huge white cake.  Thank you for your response I am always happy to hear from you!  :-* 16

My husband is disabled with chronic pain and I know all too much the "look" of someone in that much pain.  I can easily read it on someone now.  The bp is also definitely a sign.  I am so sorry to hear of everything you have gone and are going through.  You and your family are in my prayers.  I pray that they get to the bottom of this and get you better SOON!!  You are a very courageous person and have been through enough already.  Hang in there!
Sending lots of wellness hugs your way :-* :-*

Perfectly understandable.  Please let us know if you hear anything and pass our well wishes along to her.

Hello All~
I just got an e-mail from 16 and it does not sound good.  I am going to quote part of her e-mail so I don't get it wrong!  I think that we knew that she was going to be taking pain killers to try to control the pain better and get off the antibiotic so it would not mask the infection...here is some of what she wrote:

"Little did I know they wanted me to build a tolerance to it (Percocet) so they could put me on oxycontin & it would not kill me (omg).  When the Dr. told me to take the oxy 3 times/day I freaked out & said that I was not going to take that stuff!  He said it was either that or morphine extended release.  I told him I thought that was for cancer end stage treatment & he agreed that it was used for that however my bone is being eroded slowly by what is happening & is just as painful as end stage cancer..."

They are having trouble getting her back in w/ the doc at UW where she went before - he doesn't have any openings until June.  Apparently, all the different Dr.'s are getting together to discuss her case and are going to see if they can get her in sooner.

She asked that we continue to keep her in our prayers...they have been thru so much & I know it doesn't help that she doesn't want to be on anything so that she can better care for her son!!

I will try to keep up the updates as I get them!
