What side effects are to be expected with these treatments?

My husband really doesn't want to have micro-surgery again.  He would much rather be referred for one of the radiotherapy options, but because his tumour is pressing on his brain stem he is concerned that the treatments might do some peripheral damage.

Please could you share your experiences and advise on the possible side effects?
