Speaking of butterflies, a wise professor once said, "It's okay to have butterflies, so long as they are flying in formation.".  Words to live by.

Thanks everyone, and a special shout out to Kimberly and all the others (Nicole, Trish, Claire, and Melissa) who are having treatments soon.

Regards,

Brian

Brian-

You're B minus 1!!!!  I've got my pom poms and pirate socks out to cheer you on.  If you don't mind, I'll just wave the pom poms as I think jumping up and down is pretty much out of the question right now!~

You go!

Debbie,

I'm so happy that you are doing so well.

You are truely an inspiration to one who is anxiously awaiting the day she'll be a postie. Having all your updates with so many details, good, bad and ugly, helps me get a better understanding of what I will also be experiencing very soon. You help confirm what everyone tells me--that I will be ok.

I'll keep looking for the updates.

Me again-

Hit a new milestone today - walked down the driveway and back, accompanied by mom and the collie.  Now before you dismiss this whole driveway thing - important to know that it is about 150 feet long and slopes!  The sloping was a liittle challenging - but I found that if I looked out rather than down, it really helped.  Think I read that somewhere here on this forum, so thanks!

Then, I went out to the patiio and very cautiously got on our glider swing - and it was great!  Ah, progress is measured in tiny little steps, isn't it?

Tommorrow I am hoping to get a picture of the bonnet up here - have to download everything to my pc first.  Mom, Dad and Willie took tons of pics so I will have to choose the "winning" shots!  Maybe we should have a seperate posting just for bonnets, nets, scales, etc.  BTW, I LOVED all the pictures!!

I must also say that when Willie read me your posts each day, it was such a huge boost.  Can't imagine trying to go through this without all you wonderful people.  And, since I know that not all my days ahead will be good ones, I am glad you're right here with me - thank you, thank you, thank you!

Getting lots of rest, eating well, taking it slow...

Hi, Debbi:

Congratulations on the 'driveway walk' and porch glider excursion.  It sounds as if you're taking the right approach; venturing out and attempting to navigate but not pushing it beyond what your body is ready for.  A good initial post-op plan.  Keep it up - and thank you Debbi for your indomitable spirit that is inspirational to us all.

Looking forward to your 'bonnet' photos, too. :)

Debbi -

all I can say is "You go, girl !"  It's great to hear your recovery is going so well.  From my recollection of my post op recovery, navigating a driveway like the one you describe is a huge accomplishment.

It's also nice to know that our wishes while you were in the hospital were such a big boost to you.

I know Brian (Pooter) said he'd have a "scribe" updating us on his progress, so maybe we can make sure to pass along comments to him via his scribe while he's in the hospital.

And, Syl, I see you figured out how to post your picture!  I'm always so happy when people do that - it's really nice to put a face with a name  :)

Hi Debbi - So glad to hear that you are well on your way to recovery.  I hadn't seen your post or I would've sent a note sooner.  I am thrilled that you're doing OK.  When you feel up to it, please give me a call.

Hi All-

I posted some pics to my blog, for those of you who have inquiring minds...  Hopefully my bonnet enhancements will pass muster! ;D

I'll try to post here later.  Having a tired day today - probably did a little more than I should have yesterday.  And, since we are making the trip into NYC tomorrow to see the doc, want to rest up today.

Hopefully everyone has seen the post from Pooter's wife, Jenni - hope he is doing well...

Hi, Debbi:

Thanks again for posting.  Like so many, I visited your blog and enjoyed the photos, including the 'bonnet'.  You look fine and I'm sure you'll be back to normal quite soon.  For now, get all the rest you need.  We enjoy your updates but your recuperation has to take priority. :)

We girls have to go for the glam, right?

Willie fashioned the little black cat for me, too - with a piece of gauze from the nurses staion - it kept the residents and interns buzzing.
