 Hi Debbi -
I just finished catching up on this thread.  It sounds like a good news/mediocre news day for you.  Hopefully Dr. Roland and Dr. Louie will have good news for you on Monday.  My fingers, toes and shoelaces are all crossed for you!  I forgot who said it, but I agree -- have some chocolate it always seems to make anything better.  It's my favorite mood enhancer.  Hope it helps you too.

Wendy

Lori - I understand your need to see the Atlantic Ocean.  Staten Island is surrounded by New York Harbor, Raritan Bay and the Atlantic on one side, but there's nothing like being at the beach and digging your toes into that sand that the Jersey shore and Rockaway Park (my old hometown) have.  I know how much you must be looking forward to it.  When we lived in Rockaway, we lived right off the boardwalk, literally about 20 feet.  Sometimes I really miss that.

Debbi - OFF THE LEDGE!  NOW!!  Go get yourself some chocolate.  Don't make me come up there, missy!  (Can you tell I have kids?)

Wency - ah, yes, nothing like the beach.  When we first moved to Virginia Beach, anytime I'd had a bad or stressful day, James would hand me my beach chair and just say "go to the beach".  Nothing like a half hour of sitting by yourself staring at the ocean and watching the dolphins swim by to de-stress you.  There were some days I wanted to build myself a grass shack right on the sand so I could stay there!   ;D

Good News!!

After taking matters into my own hands this morning and faxing an update to Dr. Louie's office with my questions/concerns, and emailing Dr. Roland with questions and pictures ...  apparently someone called Dr. Louie on vacation and he and Dr. Roland and the IV company all talked - and I can get the PICC line out on Monday!!!  Since I am scheduled to see Dr. Roland anyway, he says he'll take the PICC line out.  I am SOOOOO happy to have this chapter in my recovery drawing to a close!

I am already planning a long celebratory shower when I get home Monday night!

The last lemon will be infused tonight - see ya later, sucker (sorry, moderators...)!!

I am a happy camper!

Debbi:

No need to apologize for being anxious to bid your 'lemon' adieu

I join everyone else that has followed your AN journey and admired your spirit and determination in congratulating you on the upcoming move forward in your recovery...the loss of the PIC line.  Enjoy your shower and thanks for sharing your happiness with us.  It's downright infectious!  :)

If I could grin ear-to-ear right now, I would. As it is, I am grinning cheek--to-ear.  Now, I think I need to get a do-rag to keep up with Tammy.

Thank you all, as always, for your support and for always making me feel welcome and cared-for.   :-*

Debbi -
What fantastic news!!!  I am sooooo happy for you!!!  It was terrific of whoever contacted Dr. Louie on vacation and even nicer of him to respond.  Monday is just three days away.  I hope the anticipation doesn't make it seem any longer than that.  I'll do the dance of joy for you!!  Congratulations on your wonderful news.  Now, behave yourself young lady (I wanted to get into the mother act with Lori) and don't overdo it or you won't get any more Chianti!

Best wishes,
Wendy

Heh.. I'm so blunt these days that I don't even put a do-rag on the wrap.  *shrug*  I don't care who sees the wrap.  I look REALLY cool with the wrap and my nice, new sunglasses that fit over my glasses!    ;D

Yes Debbi, you have a very good memory.....Louie did have a pizzeria for 17 yrs.

Actually back in his parents' home town, my MIL's mother was the town baker.  My MIL makes the best pizza dough and onion pizza.  Yummy!! :P
