Post Postie?
« on: May 29, 2008, 06:26:52 am »
This may sound a bit silly but I've never been known to avoid silly so here goes.  If you are a postie after AN surgery what are you after the second AN surgery?

Good question.  We should develop a whole new category of postie.  Maybe something like Postie x 2 or Postie Squared.  (I don't know how to type a little exponential number on a computer).

Maybe you should have the honor of choosing your own category name - since you and others like you are so special  :)

Hi, onceagain:

'Post-postie' sounds about right.  For that matter, so does 'Double-Postie' or even 'tired'.  :)  I like 'Post Toastie' because I qualify for that title.  Lucky me.

Hey, if we can't laugh (well, chuckle, anyway) we're only making a tough situation harder to deal with.  I choose laughter.  I'm glad you do, too.  ;D

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

I am going to have surgery plus radiosurgery this time so I guess I am a Post Postie Toasty.
Jim, I agree 100% with you.  You have got to find the humor or you get overwelmed.  My kids just think I am weird.

So what if you've had two surgeries and then radiation? A "Toastie Post-Postie"?

Whatever you call it, I'm thinking you're highly placed in the bonnet competition!  Especially if you get that really nifty net thing that Phyl got ...  (See my surgery post if you missed the pics ...)

What if you have surgery, then radiation, then go out and celebrate that it's all over with and that your AN is truly dead dead dead! Are you a Totally Toasted Post Toastie??

What if you stumble into a tattoo parlor?

Okay, you guys made me laugh out loud.  A Post-Toasty.  That's a keeper.  You guys are great.  See my poem is right -" What good's a tumor if you can't use some humor..."

And Scott, I'd just call  you "miraculous"!  Because if I had to have gone through what you did, I'd have been lucky to know my name!  I would have just been , "toast", I guess.
