NF2 Charity Support
« on: August 27, 2008, 10:54:19 am »
came across this young lady a while back - a USA Teacher
cancer at 15, now 30 and NF2, and completely deaf (AN x many), with balance issues etc etc
Down and out ?, taking it easy ?, waiting for the world to end ?
Not a word of it - She plans to hike (NF2 balance and all), 30 miles in the one day...
Its a charity walk, for support for other NF2ers
Check out the website http://www.firstgiving.com/myquest4nf
I think she may well be "completely zarking" (its a UK term)
 - but I also think someone like that should be supported
I will arrange to get sponsership across the water somehow
I know times are tough in the big country (as they are here)
but tell your kith and kin - even a small contribution helps
..... ps ...she has a neuro OP in two weeks......
....pps ....I dont think "zarking" quite covers it...
...ppps ...make em tough, stateside dont they .....
Best Regards
Tony

Now that's a Blog!  She is raising awareness, so I added her fundraising widget to my blog.  I hope she reaches her goal and beyond!

Tony -

thanks for passing on this information and the link to donate.

This is definitely a cause very worthy of our support.

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

A very special thanks is due to all those who have donated here
The provision for NF2ers stateside is at best, moderate
I say thanks again to all those (who despite their own problems)
who can find a space in their hearts for those worse off
Best Regards

Tony -

made a donation earlier today - hope others will too as Rebecca is nearing her goal.  Every little bit helps.

Thanks once again for the link.
