yes, you are on the list.  I am volunteering as well - don't know in what capacity though.  Wish I did.  Need to plan all those social events we all keep talking about

I am having a meeting June 14th from 2-4 at the Downers Grove Library....we will be going over the whole volunteer thing....it shouldn't interfere with any social things as I too want too   I was told it will be announcing speakers at classes you are already at....

trying to get ready to book my flights... looks like I won't be there for the full mischief and mayhem prior/post symposium..... trying to fly in Thurs night and fly back Sunday afternoon... and folks, I'm not bringing bail money for you all if you get yourselves into trouble. You're on your own!

Seriously??    The last thing I am is a public speaker.  Not that introductions are "speeches"-  but YIKES!!!  I was hoping for a nice quite desk job - you know, like checking in people @ registration, telling registrants where meetings are located, etc. 

Both my docs (neurotologist and neurosurgeon) are speaking.  I would love to introduce them, but I'm afraid my introductions would be so long (I think both of them are absolutely amazing) that they'd never get to their speeches. 

Are you in charge of the volunteers and their assignments?  We may have to talk

there will be plenty of time for mayhem on Thursday night - no matter what hour your Leer jet arrives.  In fact, we are planning to center the mayhem around you.  You'll probably just find all of us in the bar - since Steve is buying   

I think Lori and Kay are in charge of bail money - my funds are already committed to those who want to shop

You can do a desk job i'm sure....they just gave me one example...the person who is handling volunteers will talk at the meeting....so you better be there!! and I just figured out how to add my picture after weeks of working on it.....so i am super pumped!! I am really looking forward to meeting everyone....everyone here are the most supportive group of people i have ever met.....

BAIL Money?? First of all, what little money we have is going to the Drake and besides - I plan on us raising some cane but NOT getting caught!!  . Phyl will be there as our protector, right?

Note to Steve -  start knitting some hats in Chicago Bears' colors (navy blue and orange)

sorry to hear you won't be able to attend - but you'll be there in spirit.  And it just gives us another excuse to raise a toast in honor of someone.  I sure hope Steve's drink budget is a large one 

Hopefully you'll be able to make the next symposium, which will be in 2011.  No location has been announced yet, but someone said we'll find out in August.

thanks for the heads up on the June meeting.  I'll have to put in on my calendar and bribe someone to deal with my kids that afternoon.  Downers Grove is too far away from my house just to leave them home alone - and believe me, no one would want them at the meeting.  Let me just say that two 13 year olds with "much better things to do" wouldn't be pretty

Ok, just made my plane reservations.  Of course, I haven't registered, or decided on a hotel, but at least we know I'll be there!  I'll arrive on Saturday afternoon and leave Sunday afternoon, so we'll have to party extra hard on Saturday night.

Still looking for a hotel near the Drake but not as expensive (just on principal).  Any suggestions?  I have found several hotels with slightly lower rates but none close enough to the Drake.  I may just break down and pay the big bucks....
