I just had an email conversation with John "ole Chumbucket" Bauer, one of the creators of the Talk like a Pirate site and co-autor of the book "Pirattitude."  Turns out he has quit his day job and moved from Oregon to the island of St Croix, where my family lived from the mid 60's til 1990. He has decided that in order to pursue the life of a true pirate he needed to live in the Caribbean.  You may remember the Bauers from Wife Swap, where the wife had all the super organized family running around dressed like pirates and yelling AAAARRRR.  The kids loved their new mom Mad Sally.  They have posted pics of their new digs on St Croix on the website--they are still house hunting and staying in a condo at Cane Bay on the North Shore. I hope to meet them someday--maybe I'll get down there this winter!

Very impressive, Wendy.

Deb might not be the only "Captain" among us  ;)

I don't do pirate-speak (mostly because I'm sure I'd be no good at it  :D ) but the website sounds very cool.

I'll have to check it out.

Well, Miss Wendy Wench and Miss Jan Wench, ye already have much Pirattitude since ye be AN survivors and since ye had the dreaded melon-baller in yer noggins like me, I know ye walk like drunken sailors sometimes, so's ye must has a lil pirate in ye somewheres!!  Good speak Wendywench!!!

I can't type pirate but we have had talk like a pirate going on here since before
my AN... I have always thought I would like to be a pirate... now one step closer with the
drunken swagger...

I do have the remains of a mini pirate ship in my back yard ... built as  picture back drop for
Cub Day Camp and has sat in my yard with the cats and girls climbing on it and using it as  a hide
out ... my husband picked it up with the hay fork and ran it aground in the goat pen...

so I guess next time we set sail we need to have roasted goat with the grog and me and the
girls can have the SS Sea Wolf back
