Monday's Update on Cindyj
« on: November 10, 2008, 04:19:41 pm »
Cindy sends her "Hello" to all!  She looks forward to joining you again.  Today is somewhat better than yesterday.  Took her first walk down the hall this AM.  Really tough as she's still fighting nausea, but better than it has been.  Sure tomorrow will be even better.  Thanks again to all of you for your concern and support.

"Mom"

Thanks so much for the update on Cindy, Mom.  :)

As you know, the first few days post-op are usually the hardest, in terms of regaining balance, etc.  I'm confident Cindy will be fine.  Of course we look forward to seeing her post again but tell her not to worry if she can't, we just want her to recuperate and get all the rest she needs as she regains her strength and equilibrium.  :)

Hi Mom,

I don't know if you've had a chance to read all the replies to your last update, but many there responded who also had problems with nausea that lasted about 4 - 5 days. So hopefully Cindy will experience nausea-free days very soon. Glad she's feeling a little better. Hope you were able to find some of the "tummy-settling" cookies, too.

Thanks for the update!

hi "Mom" and thank you!  Please tell Cindy to enjoy the weather there as I hear it's ca-ca in GA right now.... sounds like she's onward and upward to wellness ... the bloke and I send continued wishes of wellness! Looking forward to her "graduation" to Seton Hall and for her to head home soon.  You hang in there too..... we're thinking of you!

Hi Mom
I'm glad to hear the surgery was a success.  Please give Cindy my best.  I sort of got lost in the shuffle of a move and the loss of an internet connection.

It was great meeting you all on Thursday.  I'll have to check for pictures from Nancy.

Hope you're enjoying your stay here.  The weather has been great.

My best

Thanks Mom for posting.  And, a great big hello to Cindy.  I am so glad you are doing OK.  That walk down the hall must have been meaningful to you.  I hope the nausea is getting better.  Please keep us informed.  It is great to hear that you are in good hands in LA.  Thinking of you, and I wish each day that you get better and better.  Hugs!

Ha!  You wouldn't be referring to the Knoxberry Farms Raspberry ones would you?  Hopefully they've stocked up since we left.  Mike bought 27 packages out of every machine he could for me.  LOL  He said I sounded like a squirrel in the middle of the night tearing into a bag of them.  Think that's how I gained the extra 7 pounds I'm packing?   ;D

Cheri

Cheri,
Yep - those are the ones! I think you were the first one to discover their medicinal qualities.  ;)

Cheri,

Please excuse me if I sound nosy, but I was curious when I read your comment about going back to House next fall for a follow-up. May I ask if they requested that for some reason?

Thanks,

Cheri -

I'm curious about this also.

Don't most patients who travel to HEI find a local doc to do their followup visits?  I could be wrong, but I'd imagine it would be cost prohibitive for most AN patients to travel to HEI on a regular basis - or even annually.

Mom -

thanks for the update on Cindy.  The nausea will pass at some point - I promise!  Been there, done that  ;)

Please give Cindy our best,

No, HEI did not ask me to come back.  I am making the choice to do so.  I may have to request a doctor's order from HEI and would like for the doc's who did my surgery to do my one year follow up.  I can get the MRI done locally like I did in the first place and send it to them, but if all goes as planned, we are hoping to return to Seaton for a few days and see Dr. Freidman and Dr. Stephan first hand.  Besides, I'm wanting to spend more time with my new L.A. 'homies', so what better excuse?   ;)
Cheri

I think we will do the same ... for my 5 year MRI ... we will call it a vacation and go to LA again !!!

Mom -
Thanks for the update on Cindy.  As others have said, the first few days are the worst -- things usually start improving a lot from then on.  Please give her my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Cheri,

As much as I adored everyone at House and will, for the rest of my life, be so very grateful for the excellent care and treatment I received there, I have to admit that when we drove out of the parking lot for the last time to head to the airport, I was thinking "I hope I never have to come back here again." Hope you'll have a good reunion visit next fall and that all will be well.

Hi all!!!  It's me, myself!  I made it to postie land - wow what a few days.  I just got out of the hospital today and am exhausted, but wanted to say hi and thanks SO VERY MUCH to all of you - I could NOT have done this without you - can not imagine people going thru this without the support of this group.  I have much I want to say and tell you about - want to try help you other pre-posties as I have been so helped, but think it'll have to wait til tomorrow...

Amy, the scarf will be on its way to you tomorrow - I had intended to get it off sooner, but the body didn't cooperate at the speed I was hoping for,  But, the magic will get there and to anyone else having treatments...best of luck.

I'm not going to proof this, so please excuse my errors - I'm off to rest .

I felt everyones hugs, love and concern - it was esepecially great to have been able to see and touch David, Mathilda, and Nancy before the surgery  - thoughts of you guys and how well you looked kept me going in those first few days!

Talk to you tomorrow - when I'll try to not ramble and be more coherent,

love cindy
