Hi,
I had that testing done. It was no big deal.. They put cold water though one ear at a time to see if you get dizzy and then warm water to do the same. I flunked the cold and warm on my right side. Not knowing at that point that I had a AN. It didn't hurt at all.
Hope this helps,
Sher

i am little sensitive, so when they were flushing down the warm water into my ears, i was actually squirming and got really tensed.  it did not hurt but i just did not like that feeling.

I had the test done twice before surgery 1st ENT, 2nd hospital.  It was no big deal, if the water temp is not to cold or to hot, dizzy for maybe 30 seconds, I also flunked AN side.

I had the warm and cool water, which felt a bit odd, but didn't hurt at all. But she then had to try it with ice cold water, which hurt. I don't say that to scare you, but I was totally unprepared for that to happen, so I wanted to give you a warning! I was told that because I was having no reaction on my tumor side, she had to try it with the ice cold water.

Hopefully they won't need to do that!
