Hola from Mexico with a question
« on: January 15, 2009, 02:01:46 pm »
Hi Everyone.
Since being in Mexico for the last two weeks, my tinniuis has basically all but disappeared...The damn silence on my AN side kept me awake for several days.  I was having tinnitus basically 24-7 ( cant find the forward slash on this mexican keyboard) and since being here it has deminished a WHOLE LOT. This silence as I´ve said is keeping me awake at night.  So far I have been able to put Booger out of my mind except for this silence at night....I guess I really should be glad about it but the tinnitus was soothing...sounded like a river with crickets...Has anyone else gone thru this?
Anyhow back to my vacation...Wishing those who have gone thru treatment a speedy recovery

Hi Jo,

I hope you're having a wonderful vacation down in sunny Mexico. When my  tinnitus started last April, it was so quiet it was practically unnoticable -- I actually had to listen for it.  I noticed an increase in my tinnitus once the cold weather set in so I wonder if the warmth and  beautiful weather in Mexico is relieving your tinnitus.  I asked my doc and he seemed doubtful that the weather would affect it, but my bad knee is like a built in barometer so why not my ear too?

Could be a side effect of the tequila!   :D  However, I think if you drink enough of it, you won't have any problem sleeping!

It will be interesting to see if the tinnitus comes back when you get home....

Enjoy the vacation!
