We are venturing forth again this Sunday out upon the Mighty Flat Turquiose of Sarasota Bay so we will need our Pooter to conjure up a nice 15 to 20 knot breeze!  Jeez, then maybe we will even make it out into the Gulf of Mexico! Yo-ho-ho! AAAARRRR!!!!

Thanks Nancyann! Good to hear from you!  You know folks this is such huge progress for me!  3 years ago when I found (or re-found) the forum in its now more user-friendly state, I was practically bed-ridden with daily migraine post-op headaches. Through the experience of others here, and the information gathered at the ANA symposium in Philadelpia in 07, I finally started to find a way past those horrible awful headaches.  Thanks to a great doc at a headache specialty clinic that was willing to listen to me when I requested certain meds suggested by docs at the ANA headache workshops, I finally feel like I have my life back--I don't feel like "the sick one" any more. So to all of you recent posties with fresh new headaches--stick around here and for gosh sakes try to find a good doc with an open mind!  And try to tough it out and get to a symposium or at least order the headache workshop on CD and make your doc listen to it!  These are not ordinary headaches!

I'll be thinking of all of you on Sunday whilst out upon the briney deep!

Love and Hugs,

Capt Deb. P)

What a smile! Nothing like the feel of the breeze and the smell of the ocean to take away your cares!

Warm winds and steady seas... :)

AAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!

Ahoy Ye Wenches, Scallywags and various assorted Bilge Rats! That includes you Master Laz! Yers truly ventured forth upon the Great Flat Turquiose of Sarasota Bay again this past Sunday afternoon wiv me new mates, Captain John and First Wench Karalee. Light winds we had and a few squalls and fog to the north but it be fairly warm.  Here be a pic of me Aids to Navigation! We don't need no stinkin' port and starboard runnin' lights!

Wivout these toes we'd a been hopelessly lost and probably ended up with Oceanic Flight Number whatever on that island with the Smoke Monster and the polar bears. And Sawyer. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH SAWYER!!! I digress..........

And here's a pic of me in my position as lookout on the bow.  (Boat already had a captain!) Good thing we only had about 6-inch seas instead of the usual rolling 4 to 5 footers are commonplace in the Caribbean.  I didn't even fall overboard!

And I had to give you guys a close up shot of my favorite pirate wench sailing T-shirt!

Ain't she a cutie? I'm actually wearing her in my forum profile pic but you can't see her!

Dr Love, my husband, is coming down here to fetch me tomorrow because I threatened to miss the plane home. I hope he gets to go sailing too! At least he'll get a little beach time and a break from working outside building a house in the snow.  While I have him down here we will start sniffing around for a little place down here for the winters--there are some sweet deals right now.

Goodbye from the Sushine State!

About the toes for all you landlubbers--on a seagoing vessel, her running lights on the port (left) side are red and the starboard (right) side are green. Basic seamanship 101 with Captain Deb. Or seawomanship.

My friend Marge and I have been doing this to our toes for years ever since I crewed on her sweet 42 foot wooden Herreschoff yawl "Tradition." I'll post some crazy toe pics when I get home that will really crack you up! Nowadays wiv me sense of direction all cattywhompus thanks to severed balance nerve.  I use them as "Aids to Navigation" to help me find my car in the Wal-Mart parking lot!

Hey Capt. Deb.
Thought you could appreciate this. Here is my son Rivers at age 3 being the Captain of our Catalina Sailboat at the Grand Maumelle Sailing Club in Arkansas. Congrats to you Deb. on feeling better and getting back to the "healing waters" as I call them.
