Hi All,
While celebrating our recent Wedding Anniversary I was at a nearby casino, playing a slot machine and a fellow next to me began talking to me. Of course he was talking in my AN ear and I couldn't hear what he was saying as I told him I was partially deaf in my right ear. His response was that he was also deaf in the same ear. So I asked him what his deafness was caused by and he said "Oh I had an Acoustic Neuroma removed 10 years ago which left me deaf". I was in shock! What are the chances of meeting someone like that with the same kind of tumor in a place like a casino??? He said he had surgery 3 weeks after discovery, for a quarter sized tumor, and had a pretty great outcome, just a bit of dry eye, and no taste for sweets! I thought that was amazing for ten years ago by a relatively unknown Neurosurgeon! Just wanted to share that info!
