Sue, I completely agree with you.  I am just amazed at the number of people who find themselves on this journey - watching that number climb is staggering to me and sad...but they are finding this support and that's a great thing.  I can't imagine traveling this alone.

Hey, Scott -

it's been a while.  How are you??

Jan

I'm good Jan, thanks. Been lurking for a while to keep up with everyone, but keeping to myself for the most part. I just had another follow up appointment, (it's been 18 months since GK, 3 years since surgery #2 and 5 years since surgery #1) and everything is looking good. No growth and even some necrosis which is music to my EAR. Just had a hearing test too and the one ear that does work, is working perfect. All good news for this round of appointments. I now get to start going back every year instead of every 6 months.

I've just noticed members is now 3,500... hurrah!  Now I'm going to bed as it's 1.20am in Aus just now, so when I wake up I want to see 100,000 posts on the counter ok??  I'm relying on the US and Europe contingent to sort this out... get posting people!
Right sided AN 2.7cm at last MRI.  Hearing loss/facial numbness.  Translab scheduled March 11th 2009.  Translab at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia successful!  Total tumour removed, SSD, no facial issues, numbness has left the building, balance issues but they'll get better and I'm loving life!

99524 as I type this... and I've only contributed 4772 to the cause? Shame on me! Must post more! :)

...and for the approx 4 yrs I've been on this site, so many of those 100k posts have been filled with love and support.. sometimes filled with nonsense... and some filled with never-ending debates.... but, it says a lot about this forum for us to be approaching such a terrific milestone!  I just want to thank you all for contributing as you do.. .and for the ANA for allowing us to "post on!" :)

Congrats all!

I belong to a gym that is part of the Fitlinxx network, which keeps track of exercise points according to how many pounds a participant lifts and how many minutes of cardio are done. I just finished the Gold Level and am now working toward Platinum. Whenever a participant achieves a new level, the computer puts on a little fireworks show. Mine went off the day before Tony's funeral. It was a much needed diversion.

It would be fun for something like that to happen here when we get to 100,000 points.

Well, I could post another 108 responses, but I'm sure someone - or perhaps someones - would complain that I'm posting quantity, not quality  ;D

As for my two cents worth on that topic, all I can say is it's a community folks and that's what sections like AN Community are for.  If you object to someone's quantity, perhaps you shouldn't frequent areas like the community section.

I don't get on the backs of the "pirates" or complain about the PBW posts - in fact, I find them very humorous - but I honestly do feel a little offended by the comments regarding those of us with lots of posts.

Maybe I'm being hypersensitive here or perhaps I'm just in a pissy mood.  I'll admit it hasn't been the best of days.

Whatever,

Jan

it doesn't bother me either when people do lots of posts because everyone's usually saying such good things or answering questions. i was thrilled when i finally made it from 'newbie' to jr member or now, i think i'm a full member! i think this 100K post is fun. when i first read steve's latest post, i thought surely someone will hit 100K while i'm in bed tonight and i want to be around to see it, but i'd miss it.  so i was joking to steve, who was before me, that we could just count down and go back and forth till we hit it (then maybe i could win a hat too). ok, now  i'm just rambling and should probably log off and go to bed.

jan - i hope you have a great day tomorrow. i've found your many posts very helpful!

Looks like the morning group will get to make the 100,000th post.

Jan, I think people are just teasing about all the posting. You are a champ at responding to all the newbies, and everyone appreciates that - I know I do.

Have a good night, and a pleasant tomorrow.  :)
