Just too curious and couldn't let it go.  So I did some researching through the archives.  It seems that the Forum in this format was started on February 22, 2005 and the counter was reset to zero and that Gary (GM) made the first post -- Becky sort of verified it 3 posts later.

So it took a little over 4 years to hit 100,000.  If we write at the same rate, it'll be 2013 by the time we hit 200,000.

How about that math!

OK now I'm satisfied and I can go back to writing.

I am wanting to say since 2005 but may not be quite right.     I've been around ever since my first AN surgery in 2001.      The earlier forum was in no way like this.      All posts went to your home email which made for busy reading.      When I first was planning surgery, there  was absolutely no mention of how good life could be post op.     I was a basket case.      Everyone here had severe problems.            There was finally an article from a guy in the newsletter who did well.      I just sat and bawled that there was a chance of doing ok afterwards.                 I had made my surgery date in Aug but was not till Nov so past harvest time for my husband.       Long scary wait.
2 years later before even a hint of having NF2.                        I am very grateful for what people can talk about now and how I feel have been of help to other ANers.                  I do sometimes wish I didn't have to mention the 4 surgeries as am not bragging by any means or trying to show I am worse off than others.    I have been lucky to fairly well in spite of so many.  I can only say that now since past them and not at the time.            You can kind of forget how crappy you felt.

how the heck did I MISS THIS!?!?!??!  :o  :o  :o

what a HUGE milestone for us here! Amazing.. and not all the posts were utter nonsense! :D

Congrats all for such a HUGE accomplishment! For all that has been shared over all of these posts..... great job.

Cheryl R, I believe you are correct. A good way to judge is this... (since JoeF and I were around for all the fun....)... check the "Archives" forum... look at the originating date of the last post there. The "Archives" forum did not exist in the old format. ;)

Congrats all!  congrats Sara for pushing it to this milestone... and um...

*pssst, hey Steve... since JoeF is the "Quick Draw McGraw" with the Mod "delete" button, although the rest of us also tend to enjoy pushing buttons around here as well.... if we have him delete a few here and there... we could roll back the posts count and then, the Mods could put it back to 100k.... whatta thunk? Jim? Joe? ;) :D *

and the winner of the 100,000th post?  maybe they'll get a hat!

Right about now I'm liking this idea. Though Steve may not, especially if we keep rolling back and hitting 100,000 over and over and over . . .

Hey Guys
A few posts back, I did the research and the math.  The Forum in this format started on February 22, 2005 and Gary (GM) was the first post.

Phyl -- Would Judy be interested in hearing this?

And Cheryl -- I think you pretty much summed things up "You can kind of forget how crappy you felt."

per Judy on the phone:

She thinks its terrific... she's totally in the loop on this....... congrats to all...

*plus she laughed hard at the part about Mods deleting posts to reboost the post count....*

Plus Judy confirms that the 100k is based on first posts as of the launch on Feb 2005 (the updated forums).  Kewl!   :D

At the last Symposium in Philadelphia, I gave Judy a pirate scarf.  Rumor has it that she wears it every day!
