Thanks for all the kind words. Nothing to report at this point at 11:00. They say the surgery began at 9:00, so she's definitely in the thick of it now...

Thanks for the good words and concern. Getting a little tired of knowing nothing. Such a long time to be knocked out! I'm trying not to think about it or worry too much. I know these things take time, and maybe a long time means they're being very careful.

Dave,

Just a quick rundown so that you might know when to expect things:

My operations started at 9:09 A.M. to be exact.
Richie said he got the last update at 3:12 p.m. from the nurses.
The Doctor finally gave a call at 6:44 P.M. to tell him how the operation went.
8:10 P.M is when they moved me to ICU, and Richie was told he could come up to the ICU waiting area at 8:30 P.M.
9:00 P.M. he was allowed to come in and see me in the ICU.

So don’t worry it may still be a little while before you hear anything. It doesn’t mean anything is wrong; they are just taking the time they need to do things right.

The nurse just told me they are finishing up now, and I should expect to hear from the Dr. soon! Guess I'll start holding my breath again. Not sure what the schedule of events will be, so, sorry if it takes me a little while to let you all know about it.

Hi Dave,
I've been gone all day. The first thing I did upon returning home was grab the computer to see what's up with Nancy. It's great to have this forum family! Hang in there - sorry you're having to wait so long. Hopefully you know something now and can see her pretty soon, or sort of pretty soon.
Take care,
Keri

Just talked with Dr. Barker. He says she is done, but needs to wait in the operating room for a while so they can get some space in the ICU, if I understand correctly. Sounds like a busy airport(?). She should be moved there in about 45 minutes, then the nurse here says they will check her out there for about another 45 minutes before I can actually see her. The Dr. said they removed all of the tumor, that it seems to have gone well, but said her face was a little weak on one side- guess that's not unusual - he didn't sound too concerned. I'll try to let you all know how it goes when I finally get to see her, but it looks like it might be 8 or 9:00 when that happens. Forgive me if I don't get back to you all until tomorrow.

Best regards,

Dave

Yes, phew, glad its over and moving forward.  Nancy, keep on rockin' this thing!  Dave, if you feel comfortable, ask all the questions you have.  I told my husband that this forum is the only place on the planet that people will understand his emotions and concerns.  We are here for you and Nancy.  Best wishes to you both and let the recovery begin.  More prayers for you both.
